In life, there are days and moments where everything we do does not feel enough, or face situations that are beyond our control. A common response to such instances is to doubt ourselves and our abilities, and that is a very normal and human thing to do. But the effect of self-doubt can cut both ways: It can either spur us to achieve our goals and thereby boost our confidence levels, or cause us to feel entirely powerless and paralysed. Fortunately, whether we allow it to work for or against us is mostly up to us. In this issue, we will explore the ways in which we can harness self-doubt to build confidence -- one step at a time. | Moving from Self Doubt to Self Confidence It would be nice if moving from self doubt to self confidence just came naturally. However, moving from self doubt to self confidence is a practice you can adopt, with practice. When you are able to identify where your insecurities lie and what is stopping you from feeling confident, you can then start the process of moving from self doubt to self confidence. You will be able to work on eliminating the blocks that are keeping you from moving through life with assuredness. Here are some of the culprits for the patterns of self doubt and ideas for what you can do about them. | Why confidence and knowledge can lead to smart money decisions Two common areas that cause people to procrastinate financially are knowledge and confidence. Logically, we know that financial literacy can boost our confidence to make informed money-management decisions. Yet, many people tell me that they lack the confidence to learn and absorb that financial knowledge, which holds them back. However, everybody is capable of effectively managing their money. While some need mindset adjustments, others need a confidence boost or a little reassurance that they are on the right track. Take small steps, follow and when doubt starts to creep in, remind yourself that money is only a tool and you are learning. | 9 Habits That Are Destroying Your Confidence | Proudly Brought to You I seek to reach out to people who believe in safeguarding the interests of their loved ones. My previous Insurance Agent, who was also a distant family member had sold me useless polices that provided no essential protection and coverage. It was then that I decided to terminate those policies and by luck, my dad’s friend introduced Wilson to me.
Wilson took the time to chat with me about my lifestyle, my occupation and my long term plans in the future. He drew out detailed plans and policies and guided me every step of the way to make sure I knew what I was paying for. He is ever so patient to explain important details to me and up till today, he will not hesitate to explain and clarify any doubts I have.
This relationship has been built upon trust. I have gone through a few other medical emergencies over the last 13 years and he has always been ready to assist. I have even entrusted him to plan my retirement and he has been nothing but thoughtful and sincere while making these plans with me.
I highly recommend Wilson because he is very responsible and genuine. He will go the extra mile for you. | | | Hui Lian (Principal Architect) I’ve known Wilson since university days and he’s very sincere in understanding my needs in the different stages of my life. He troubleshoots anything that I need to know and solve with regards to financial matters and insurance covers or claims, and offers solutions and recommendations even if it is not within his usual scope. He is definitely good at what he does, approachable and very responsive – something which I value in him very much.
| | | Darren Wong (Ship Broker) I have known Wilson since serving our national service days, and we became closer during our reservist stints. He is always very sincere and passionate about the importance of insurance and the benefits for being covered for rainy days which is something we will never be able to foresee or predict.
When I was much younger, i never imagined how important it was to have proper insurance coverage. It was Wilson who advised me in detail on the right policies suited for me and my family and also for financial planning for the future.
My family and I are very happy to have him as a great financial advisor, and would greatly recommend him to anyone for financial planning. | | | Loo C M (Pilot) Wilson and I were called up for an overseas ICT more than 10 years ago. Despite being the "old guy" and from different cohort, he made me feel welcome with him approachable and friendly character .
I have had a couple of advisors from different companies, and an array of plans but Wilson was always there when i needed advices and second opinion about my financial portfolio and also claims for my parents hospital bills etc. Even though he was not even my "official" agent then. All I had to do was to msg/call him and he will be readily available to answer my queries.
He has since helped my personal insurance portfolio, and also my children's health insurance and education planning. I would definitely refer him to anyone looking for any financial advices or planning. | | | | |
